Students Confirm—Outreach is Needed

In this unprecedented period when most student loan payments are being suspended we're still reaching out to student loan borrowers.

As shared last month, our Repayment Support Team is calling students who attended a Cohort Catalyst school, and their goals are simple:ringing-phone-with-icon

  • Let the students know the status of their loans
  • Answer any questions they have
  • Offer our support for later in the year when the CARES Act suspension ends

Know that engagement numbers are very high and our outreach is welcomed and very much appreciated.

Through conversation our counselors are replacing student confusion and concern with knowledge and relief. Here's a summary of one discussion as shared by loan counselor Laura K.

"Keeley was having trouble reaching her loan servicer and was worried about her inability to make her loan payment. Her internship was cancelled and she's been unable to find a job locally. After we shared how the CARES Act will help, Keeley was very happy and relieved and thanked me several times for calling and providing the info about her loan.”

Please take a moment to visit our student impacts page to see the range of challenges students are facing and the benefits they're gaining from our trusted insight and guidance.

Whether it be through loan counseling or an annual student debt letter communication, it's clear that students win when they're given the right information at the right time. If you need help introducing initiatives like these, just reach out.

Exciting Announcement

orange-megaphoneOver the last three years our impact around repayment support has grown in leaps and bounds. To build on this success we're pleased to announce that our Higher Education Support Services (HESS) Team has changed its name to Repayment Support. This new name better reflects the work these Ascendium loan counselors perform as they reach out, engage, and support our Cohort Catalyst school students.

CDR Appeals Deadline Extended—Our New Solution Makes the Process So Much Easier

ca_logo_RGBFSA recently extended the deadline for submitting appeals to the draft FY 2017 CDR to June 30, 2020. If you need help analyzing cohort data in order to perform data challenges, our Cohort Analyzer makes it quick and easy. It's a component of Cohort Catalyst but can also be purchased separately for a nominal fee based on the size of a school's cohort.
